Sergeant-at-Arms
Michael Odom was born in 1964 and developed an early passion for the trades while working alongside his father, who established an air conditioning business in 1972. As a teenager, Michael honed his skills as a carpenter, gaining valuable hands-on experience building houses and performing electrical work. After graduating from high school in 1983, he continued to expand his expertise as both an electrician and carpenter, later adding roles as a chemical operator and HVAC/maintenance mechanic to his repertoire.
Michael eventually returned to the family air conditioning business, where he dedicated many years before transitioning in 2016 to serve the City of Citronelle as a multi-trade inspector. His career in public service grew further when he accepted a position with Mobile County as a mechanical inspector from 2020 to 2022. In 2022, Michael rejoined the City of Citronelle, where he continues to serve his community as a Code Inspector.
With more than four decades of experience spanning construction, HVAC, electrical systems, and code enforcement, Michael brings unmatched technical knowledge and practical insight to his role. As Sergeant-at-Arms for COLA, he is committed to upholding the organization’s values, maintaining order, and serving with integrity.
